NASA GIRLS IN STEM 2020 Event

GIRLS IN STEM 2020

The Office of Education (OE) has a strong interest in strengthening relationships with local organizations that support girls pursuing STEM careers.  To continue relationships, the OE is holding the “Girls in STEM” event.  The expected attendance will be around 200 middle school students who are participating in summer STEM programs led by partners. This event will include speakers, activities and facility tours.  The event will showcase Women in STEM working at NASA; an all-female career panel; and to the extent possible, female tour guides and activity leads.

The Girls In STEM event is designed to inspire students to become interested in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS TO REGISTER

  • Students and chaperones must be U.S. citizens
  • Student participants are in grades 6 to 8
  • 20 to 25 students per organization with chaperone(s)—minimum of 10 students
  • Organization must provide transportation to and from NASA Glenn Research Center
  • Organization’s transportation must be available for the duration of the event to transport students
  • Students and chaperones must arrive at NASA Glenn Research Center no later than 9 a.m. and participate in the entire program until 2 p.m.
  • Organization must provide student lunches

Girls in STEM, 2020 Key Dates:

  • Application Release Date – April 4, 2020
  • Application Due Date – May 15, 2020
  • Event Date – July 17, 2020
